Re: Just seen a pair of MAGPIES chasing a cat...
I was watching 2 Magpies harrass a fox about a year ago from my living room window
I watched for a few mins then got bored and walked off.

About a minute later the noise from the Magpies goes up several hundred decibels, I look out the window and one of the little cunts has obviously got a bit too brave because its hanging out of the fox's mouth.

While on holiday in Oz I found Plovers to be utter cunts.

Magpies are dodgey bastards thats for sure, bright but dodgey

Mate of mine came from good farming stock, he hated them with a passion, something to do with lambing set him off. Anyway, he said if you trap one/kill one and hang it up, the rest of the crew come down to it, so you kill another and tether that up and on you go until peace is restored

I was considering forwarding this fine advice to Cressida Dick

Re: Just seen a pair of MAGPIES chasing a cat...
I fucking hate them. Gentile might correct me but they're territorial and kill all the songbirds in "their" area.

Cunts.

Once they get settled in it's Larsen Trap and shotgun for me (which sounds like what tomshardware is referring to below). Unless you don't like songbirds.

Gentile, if Magpies are still extremely highly strung do they still hunt Pigeon and is that wood Pigeon you refer to rather than feral/racing Pigeon assuming they would be too fast to catch?

Gentile, do you like magpies? I love them, but most birdwatchers/bird lovers I know loathe them.

What a fucking life you lead, Gentile.

Re: Just seen a pair of MAGPIES chasing a cat...
I've spent most of my adult life studying the behaviour of magpies so I might be able to help here.

Magpies are by nature extremely highly strung. This dates back to Roman times where you Magpies were bred to hunt pigeon.

Re: Just seen a pair of MAGPIES chasing a cat...
Years ago I was doing some work at a farmhouse. All throughout the morning there was a tremendous racket going on in the distance. So intrigued as to what all this racket was I went to investigate. I wandered to the edge of the large garden which bordered a farmer's field. There was a kind of cage trap which contained about 3 magpies, then on the outside of the cage were 2 other magpies which seemed to be trying in vain to help the trapped magpie escape. I left them to it and retreated.

Cats are cunts.

And people with cats are a bit special. No surprise you've got 1, Pickled son.

Oh dear

My cats are pathetic with magpies.

Wish I had a hard cat.

Re: Just seen a pair of MAGPIES chasing a cat...
There were a group of magpies hanging around my garden last year.

Fucking horrible noisy things - my cat killed one of them and the rest never came back.

Judging by its condition it didn't die an instant death.
